In most of the vanilla related cuisine, this is the most preferred type. It is mainly grown in Madagascar (around 80%), Comoros Islands, Uganda, Reunion and other Indian Ocean Islands. It is also grown in Indonesia and Mexico, and recently being introduced in India too.\u00a0<\/span><\/p><p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Planifolia or Bourbon has a classic, rich vanilla flavor with hints of spice and wood. It is preferred in baking, desserts and savory dishes due to higher content of vanillin inside.\u00a0<\/span><\/p><p><strong>2.Vanilla Tahitensis<\/strong><\/p><p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">This Tahitian vanilla is a hybrid of V. planifolia and V. odorata and is primarily grown in French Polynesia and Papua New Guinea with the latter contributing majorly to the international trade of this variety.\u00a0<\/span><\/p><p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">It has a distinct floral aroma with hints of aniseed, licorice and cherry.
